Human
resource or manpower planning is 'the process by which a management determines
how an organization should move from its current manpower position to its
desired manpower position. Through planning, a management strives to have the
right number and the right kind of people at the right places, at the right
time, to do things which result in both the organization and the individual
receiving the maximum long-range benefit".
Q2. What are the factors affecting
recruitment? What are the sources of recruitment?
Answer. The process of finding and hiring the
best-qualified candidate (from within or outside of an organization) for a job
opening, in a timely and cost effective manner. The recruitment process includes analyzing the requirements of a job,
attracting employees to that job, screening and selecting applicants, hiring,
and integrating the new employee to the organization.
Q3. What are the main
objectives of training? Explain on-the job and off the job training.
Answer. Training is an organized planned effort by a
company in order to facilitate employees learning regarding job related
competencies. These competencies include knowledge, skills and behaviors
important for successful job performance.

attitudes (behavior characteristics), knowledge, skills, and the physical
condition of the employee.
