Q2.  What do you mean by Decision Making? Explain Decision making under certainty, uncertainty and risk. Describe the steps in Creative Decision making.

Answer. Decision making can be defined as the way of choosing from the alternatives. When trying to make a good decision, a person must weigh the positives and negatives of each option, and consider all the alternatives. For effective decision making, a person must be able to forecast the outcome of each option as well, and based on all these items, determine which option is the best for that particular situation.



Q3. What is meant by ‘span of control’? Differentiate between narrow span of control and wide span of control. What are the factors that influence the span of control?

Answer. Span of control: The number of subordinates that a manager or supervisor can directly control. This number varies with the type of work: complex, variable work reduces it to six, whereas routine, fixed work increases it to twenty or more.

OB can be defined as a systematic study that investigates the impact of individuals, groups and organizational factors on productivity to include effectiveness and efficiency, absentee, turnover, organizational citizenship behavior and job satisfaction. Organizational behavior is the study of both group and individual performance and activity within an organization.



Q5. Perception is the way we see and interpret things. Explain the importance of such ‘perception’. What are the factors affecting perception?
